Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE SURFING - whether its your first time or you're trying to advance your skills. We'll get suited up in the wetsuits I provide, grab the surfboards (we offer boards in a variety of sizes to fit your needs) and head down to the sand. For the first 20-30 minutes we’ll be training on the beach, then it’s 60-80 minutes with an instructor in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water. PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS: The classes are taught by myself or one of our great instructors. We usually have the 2nd instructor helping in the water when the group exceeds 6-7 people. Your safety is our main priority! All of our lead instructors are ISA (International Surfing Association), CPR & First Aid certified, we obtain Water Safety Specialists certificates (surfing instructor safety training) and I also completed 2 Level surf instructors program with ISA. PHOTOS: One of the instructors will try to take complimentary GoPro photos of you in and out of the water in the last 10-15 minutes of the experience. Keep in mind that it's not alway possible to get water shots due to safety reasons. These are not professional pics but a great memory for you, your friends and family. Immersive tea tasting in our little tea house, featuring different tabletop flower arrangements and aromatherapy every week!. There will be Chinese style tea art demonstrations and on certain holidays Guzheng ( Chinese musical instrument) performances. Guests will choose between black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, dark tea and scented teas from China at different tea tasting times. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China.

Come and spend a day at a farm and make art! We are a woman owned organic farm located near the Sandy River. We have converted a century old dairy barn into a ceramic studio. Let’s spend the day playing with clay and learning together. Here we have options based around your skill level and interests. I can lead you on the potters wheel or in hand building techniques. For an additional cost of $25 per person I will fire your projects in my kiln and you can choose a glaze color for your finished pieces. You can choose to pick up a couple weeks after your booking or pay to have your pieces shipped. Our life philosophy is EAT ANYTHING, ANYWHERE. We like eating some of the best foods, in odd places. We will meet on the docks of East Boston where we will tear into and slurp dozens of local oysters, harvested by our oyster farmer friends, while looking over the harbor and skyline. You will learn how to properly shuck an oyster and will go home with a shucking knife of your own. The memories will be in the details. We will set up in "flash-mob" "pop-up" style along the water. Expect the unexpected. Other things to note This is an outdoor experience. To get to the dock, I encourage you to take a water taxi! There are several pick-up points and I am happy to help arrange this for you.

We will teach you how to milk a cow. *At the beginning we allow you time to spend with the animals. Petting, brushing, or just hanging out with them. *Next we take you through what we feed our animals and how we care for them. We can talk about what goes into the cleanliness of the process and getting everything ready. *We will then go through the experience of milking the cow (whether by hand or with the machine, you decide). Allowing you to do as much of the work as you feel comfortable with. *Afterwards we will strain the milk and get it cooled and clean up. *Before you leave we will give you the opportunity to taste any of the products from our farm with the option to purchase milk at a 50% discount. *Congrats! Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my flameworking studio and learn how to make your first piece of glass art at Chadly Glass Studio! I’m a professional borosilicate glass blower with over 10 years of experience and offer hands-on, beginner's classes in inner SE Portland. In this introductory group class, students will be taught basic glass blowing safety, skills, and will have the opportunity to create 2-3 pieces of glass art: a mushroom sculpture, wine bottle stopper or pendant, and a small blown ornament. This class may be shared with other individuals (up to 6 participants per class). Class duration is approximately 3 hours. Students get to keep any glass they create, and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a very unique field. *Glass made during lesson will require kilning for durability, which takes a minimum of 4 hours. Most students choose to pick up the glass they made the next day (or at their earliest convenience).* ** Participants are required to sign a liability waiver prior to instruction. Minimum age requirement is 14 years old. Participants between ages 14-17 must have their parent/guardian present for the duration of the class. Classes are open to people of all skill levels and abilities! However, dexterity in both hands and the ability to recall important safety instruction for the duration of class is crucial.

Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots. Other things to note: Wear casual clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and bring a camera. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is also home to two rescue dogs, two Holstein cows and two sulcata tortoise. While we like to keep our group sizes small to enhance a personal experience, we are open to hosting larger family/friend groups with more than six individuals.

A Ten Apple Farm goat hike is a two hour recreational and educational goat experience. You'll meet your hosts (and our herd of Alpine dairy goats), and hear about their 16 years of experience with goats and living on a small family farm. Once we've met the goats and the many other animals residents of the farm, we’ll set off on a hike through the Ten Apple Farm woods with the goats and Philip our sheep! The hike consists of an approximately one and a half mile loop trail through our woods on lightly groomed trails. Along the way we’ll talk about goats as pack animals, what they eat, and you’ll learn a thing or two about raising and caring for goats. There's lots of time for interacting with the goats, asking questions, or just soaking in the Maine woods and these adorable, fun animals. We end the experience with fresh goat milk and homemade cookies! Please note: Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. 5 and 6 year olds should plan to hold a parent's hand during the hike. (Children under 4 must be carried). Other things to note: The hike is not strenuous, but there is a little bit of steep terrain in 2 spots. We have rope railings on the trail to assist with getting up and down in those spots, but guests who have bad knees, hips, or other difficulties with uneven or steep terrain should be aware.

To many, the world of Hasidic Jews is shrouded in mystery and secrecy—well, not anymore. On this experience, you get to see first hand the daily lives, rituals, and customs of the Hasidic community, guided by a member of the community and being able to access places seemingly closed off and hidden to the outsider. An opportunity to be able to ask any questions about the Jewish faith, culture, and philosophy. We kick off the experience inside a Hasidic home, and learning about what it takes to keep a Kosher home. Then its off to the streets of Crown Heights, starting with exploring the world famous “770” Synagogue, getting a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of daily prayer services. Next stop is a Jewish scribe, seeing up close the intricate details involved in producing the Torah Scrolls. Followed by a walk down the avenue, visiting the local shops, and seeing the traditions dating back to the early 1800’s. You will help us free fly our falcons on the cliffs of La Jolla at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, a National Historical Place and beloved landmark. In our Experience, offered through Total Raptor Experience San Diego, you'll learn how to call and release one of our trained birds using a falconry glove, and admire their aerial skills while they soar above the cliffs. You'll get an up-close and personal view of their mastery of flight as they perform simulated hunting behaviors, swooping, ground-skimming and diving at high speed after a moving target. At the same time we will discuss raptor flight styles and how they contribute to the diverse ecologies of different types of hawks and falcons. There will be plenty of time for questions and pictures with our birds. My hope is to send you home with a new, or perhaps renewed, love for these majestic predators and the environment. Joshua tree is a powerful vortex of energy, that cannot be fully experienced unless you tap in to your power of meditation. I am offering an hour of meditation, breath work, sound healing and other relaxing techniques in the desert. As humans we are a microcosm of the macrocosm. We will then drop anchor in a little bay close to some of the most expensive houses in Miami, allowing our sailors to swim in the shallow, crystal clear waters of Miami Bay if they wish, and then return to the original meeting point enjoying the air and views from the yacht while sunbathing on the bow of the boat or relaxing with your friends over a few beers as you are allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks on board. You will have a great time with us, you will make new friends and you might have the chance to see dolphins that love to swim alongside the boats. Our team also conducts a, more off the beaten path, tour on Fridays and Saturdays of South Lake Union. There are small bites over many stops and limited places to sit down. This experience requires a medium physical fitness level due to hills, stairs and uneven terrain. We do cover some distance and the market is crowded during the Summer. If you have to drive and park please leave a lot of extra time in the high season. The lots do fill up. Lastly, due to our tight schedule and wanting to show you as much of the market during a short time, we don't have time to shop during the tour. We encourage you to come back after the tour with your discount card to make purchases.

Snorkeling in a whole new way that makes it easier and more fun. Come jet scooter snorkel through the crystal clear waters of Hawaii on this adventure snorkeling tour. Anyone can do this tour as it is for beginners also. I will take you to one of the best snorkeling sites on Oahu to see sea turtles, tons of fish, sea life and dolphins. We will be using our jet propelled underwater scooter devices to create a fun and unique snorkeling experience, unlike any other! This tour will begin with a complimentary pickup from Waikiki at 2412 Koa ave, and a scenic drive to our snorkeling site approx. 30 mins depending which dive site we will be heading too. Dive site choice is dependent on conditions.If you are staying outside of Waikiki, please look at Kahe Point Beach Park on maps, it may be closer for you to meet us there. Please let me know if you choose to do that. Once we arrive, we will go through a safety briefing and jet snorkeling orientation to get you started on this fun filled tour. We accept all skill levels including first timers! Once in the water, we will practice using the Jet devices and begin our snorkeling tour. Majority of the time we will see sea turtles, beautiful corals and lots of beautiful fish. We see dolphins on almost every trip but every once in a while we don't see them so we can not guarantee you will see a dolphin but there is a high probability.

Upon your arrival to Oahu, you'll begin to see how surfing is Hawaiian culture. As you get into Waikiki, everywhere you look you will see surfboards...... It is now time to embrace your surroundings and let us show you the Hawaiian way. We will begin by introducing the details of the surfboard. Then discuss the fundamentals including positioning on board, etiquette, paddling, how & when to stand up, & what to do once you are on the wave. We will discuss ocean safety, awareness and safety. Once the land training is done, we will walk right across the street and enter the water, don't worry about carrying any surfboards, we have a cart for that. Once we are in the water we will guide you to the best spot to position yourself to catch waves. We will be by your side and provide the extra push to get on the wave. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or intermediate surfer, we can help all levels advance your skills on a surfboard and teach you about the area you are surfing in. After the lesson we will go back to the shop, have the barista whip us up a drink from our coffee bar, relax, and chat. OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE SURFING - whether its your first time or you're trying to advance your skills. We'll get suited up in the wetsuits I provide, grab the surfboards (we offer boards in a variety of sizes to fit your needs) and head down to the sand. For the first 20-30 minutes we’ll be training on the beach, then it’s 60-80 minutes with an instructor in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water. PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS: The classes are taught by myself or one of our great instructors. We usually have the 2nd instructor helping in the water when the group exceeds 6-7 people. Your safety is our main priority! All of our lead instructors are ISA (International Surfing Association), CPR & First Aid certified, we obtain Water Safety Specialists certificates (surfing instructor safety training) and I also completed 2 Level surf instructors program with ISA. PHOTOS: One of the instructors will try to take complimentary GoPro photos of you in and out of the water in the last 10-15 minutes of the experience. Keep in mind that it's not alway possible to get water shots due to safety reasons. These are not professional pics but a great memory for you, your friends and family. Immersive tea tasting in our little tea house, featuring different tabletop flower arrangements and aromatherapy every week!. There will be Chinese style tea art demonstrations and on certain holidays Guzheng ( Chinese musical instrument) performances. Guests will choose between black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, dark tea and scented teas from China at different tea tasting times. I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China.
